Overview

The Jewels of South itinerary on the Golden Chariot is a culturally immersive voyage through the temple towns and coastal heritage of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Beginning in Bengaluru, the route includes the grandeur of Mysore Palace, ancient spiritual centers of Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram, the majestic Brihadeshwara Temple in Thanjavur, the heritage homes and crafts of Chettinad, the colonial charm of Cochin, and a tranquil houseboat cruise through the Kerala backwaters at Chertala/Maraikulam. Aboard the Golden Chariot, guests enjoy plush cabins, globally-inspired meals in luxury restaurants, and rejuvenation at the onboard spa. The train provides seamless transportation and curated guided tours, making this an unforgettable journey across South India’s rich spiritual, artistic, and natural landscapes.

Day 01 :

Sunday (Bengaluru to Mysore)

Arrive at Yeshwantpur Railway Station around 08:30 AM. Proceed to Mysore after welcome and registration. Lunch shall be served on-board. Proceed to visit the Mysore Palace at around 3:00 PM. Return to the train for dinner as the train proceeds to Hampi.

Day 02 :

Monday (Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram)

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast on-board as the train arrives into Chengalpattu Railway Station. Forenoon optional excursion to Kanchipuram followed by lunch onboard. Visit to Mahabalipuram monuments .Dinner at beachfront hotel .Return to the train and proceed to Thanjavur.

Day 03 :

Tuesday (Thanjavur and Chettinad)

Proceed to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Brihadeshvara Temple. Lunch shall be served on-board as the train proceeds to Chettinad. In the evening proceed to visit the Athnagudi tile factory followed by visit to Chettinadu mansions. Dinner shall be served on-board as the train proceeds to Cochin.

Day 04 :

Wednesday (Cochin)

After on-board breakfast, proceed to visit the Matancherry Palace in Fort Cochin area after which witness some of the best kept dance forms of Kerala at an exclusive venue. Return to the train for lunch. Optional excursion to Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church. Enjoy an India evening on-board followed by dinner as it proceeds to Kumarakom.

Day 05 :

Thursday (Chertala/Maraikulam )

Breakfast shall be served on-board followed by visit to houseboat cruise. Lunch will be served at exclusive venue .Return to the train evening followed by dinner Onboard.

Day 06 :

Friday (Bengaluru)

Breakfast shall be served on-board as the train arrives in Bengaluru.
