Accommodation in Medellín's Zona Rosa
district
In the morning, you will check out of your hotel,
and at the designated time, your guide will pick you
up. This city tour of Medellín will take you to
discover the highlights of this vibrant city, known
as the 'City of Eternal Spring.' During the tour, you
will explore its rich history, fascinating culture, and
impressive transformation over the years.
The tour begins with a visit to the Parque de la
Inflexión, a space that honors the victims of the
violence of the 1990s in Medellín. Here, you will
learn about the city’s past and its resilience. Next,
you’ll traverse the city using Medellín’s public
transportation system, starting with the Metro
and then ascending on the Metrocable. From
above, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views
of the city and gain a deeper understanding of its
geography and urban transformation.
We will continue to Plaza Botero, where you can
admire the iconic sculptures of the renowned
Colombian artist Fernando Botero. These
voluptuous figures are a significant part of
Medellín's artistic identity. You’ll then enjoy a
delicious traditional Antioquian lunch to recharge
your energy.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit Comuna 13, once
considered the most violent area in Latin America,
to hear the story of its transformation. This area
underwent a remarkable revitalization process,
with local government initiatives aimed at
improving residents' quality of life and promoting
social inclusion.
IProjects included the installation of outdoor
escalators and the beautification of facades with
colorful murals. These efforts not only enhanced
infrastructure but also fostered a sense of
belonging and resilience within the community.
